Open to primary aged students worldwide, the Oxcellent Ox Tale Competition attracted an incredible volume of entrants. Huge congratulations to Freya, James and Akshada for gaining such commendable recognition.

Freya’s tale, The Day the Hurricane Began, won 6th place in the Year 1 to 3 Category.

“An excellent effort from Freya in this terrific story about lessons to be learned from being mean to people! I particularly enjoyed the attention-grabbing beginning and the description of the gorgeous setting.”

James was Champion of the Year 4 to 6 category with his story, A Tale of Oxcellent Wisdom. James also placed First in Sarah’s Rascally Rat Tale Competition last year.

“James scored particularly high marks for his excellent grammar and seamless writing style, with no discernible errors – a great achievement! And on top of that he managed to use a hugely impressive 14 Wicked Words in a very natural and appropriate way.”

Akshadha’s story, A Golden Mystery, won her 4th place in the Year 4 to 6 category.

“Akshadha’s story of a mystical Golden Horn and a frightening tornado, with its fabulous vocabulary and detailed setting, won her a well-deserved Fourth Place. I particularly appreciated the lyricism of her descriptions and the old frog’s fabulous and witty rhymes!”
