Principal’s Blog – February 2026
Hello, Shrewsbury Community!
February has been an inspiring month filled with joy, learning, and cultural celebration, reflecting the heart of our school. It’s a reminder that when curiosity is nurtured in a supportive community, remarkable things happen.
To celebrate the Chinese New Year, our campus came alive with a vibrant Flower Market, filled with festive colours, laughter, and excitement. Students explored traditional arts and games, such as Chinese calligraphy, woodblock printing, and shuttle kicking, fostering a deep connection to culture while appreciating the meaning behind each tradition.
The celebration continued with an unforgettable Chinese New Year Performance Assembly, where students showcased their confidence and pride through a powerful Chinese drum and lion dance, along with the delightful “White Dragon Horse” drama inspired by “Journey to the West”. Each performance highlighted hard work, teamwork, and a genuine love for learning.
Our EY2 students also enjoyed a special International Tea Party with their parents. It was a joyful morning, filled with delicious foods from around the world, exchanging laughter, and cross-cultural stories. This is a beautiful reminder of the unique tapestry of our community and the importance of family and school collaboration, in celebrating diversity.
Additionally, our talented gymnasts proudly represented Shrewsbury at the FOBISIA Gym Competition in Singapore, demonstrating exceptional skill and sportsmanship. Their achievements reflect our commitment to nurturing confidence and pride in every student.
From artistry and performance to international friendship and athletic achievement, February has truly embodied our school’s vision of inspiring exceptional individuals.
Thank you to our teachers, families, and students for making each event meaningful. Together, we continue to cultivate a vibrant learning community where values thrive.
I’d like to wish everybody a very happy Year of the Horse. Kung Hei Fat Choi.
