Principal Blog – September 2025

Dear parents and friends,

I’m Priya Kanthan, your Principal, and I’m excited to share my first Principal’s Blog with you! I hope this helps you get to know me better, both personally and as an educator.

Reflecting on my first month at Shrewsbury, I feel grateful and excited about what’s ahead. It’s been an incredible experience, and I’d like to highlight a few memorable moments.

First, our Orientation Morning was truly heartwarming. It was wonderful to see so many new and returning families come together to kick off the school year. The energy was electric, and it really showed the strength of our community. I’m thankful for the warm welcome and for meeting so many of you in person.

Another highlight was our Assembly. It was inspiring to see our students showcase their talents and celebrate our shared values in holistic education. These gatherings boost our school spirit and foster a sense of belonging, which is so important. I can’t wait for more assemblies to celebrate our students’ achievements together.

I also enjoyed hosting a digital meeting with Year 5 and Year 6 parents about our exciting expansion to secondary school with Year 7 and 8. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect and share our vision. Your involvement is vital as we support our students on their journeys.

These experiences remind me of the importance of community, collaboration, and communication. I’m committed to creating an environment where everyone’s voice is heard. Together, we can ensure a thriving educational experience for our students.
