Principal’s Blog – March 2026
Hello, Shrewsbury Community!
March has brought us many exciting milestones and meaningful experiences, showcasing our community’s spirit of growth, creativity, and connection.
We kicked off the month with the Grand Launch of Key Stage 3, unveiling our Year 7 and Year 8 program, honored by Mr. Brian Davidson CMG, the British Consul General to Hong Kong and Macao, along with our Board of Governors. This event marks a significant milestone, as Year 8 graduates will have a seamless transition into Year 9 at Shrewsbury School UK, one of the prestigious “Great Nine” schools. This expansion positions us as a school offering a continuous journey within the Shrewsbury family of schools.
Next, we celebrated Book Week, highlighting the creativity and imagination of our learning community. We welcomed three talented authors who shared their journeys, inspiring our students to see stories as adventures waiting to be written. Our “Guess the Book Character” dress-up day filled the corridors with joy, while Buddy Reading sessions strengthened reading skills and friendships across year groups.
A heartfelt thank you to our SPA parents for enhancing the week with the SPA Book Sale and the wonderful SPA Sunset Slumber Party. These shared moments reminded us that reading fosters imagination, empathy, and a lifelong love of learning—core values of holistic education and community.
Our Recital Evening was another highlight, showcasing the incredible talents of our young musicians in a celebration of artistic expression. We are proud of every performer who graced the stage.
The Year 4 Production dazzled audiences with its energy and creativity as students brought their characters to life with enthusiasm and teamwork.
Meanwhile, our Year 5 and 6 students embarked on residential trips, enjoying unforgettable experiences that fostered independence, resilience, and friendship through shared adventures beyond the classroom.
To round out the month, our House Football Competition brought excitement across year groups. The spirited matches celebrated teamwork and house pride, reinforcing connections and unity within our community.
